What is the Rent to Own service?

A Rent to Own contract is a 5-year contract with a minimum contract period of 24 months. During the contract, the on-road costs are included in the weekly cost, such as registration, CTP, full comprehensive insurance, all scheduled servicing and maintenance, and 24/7 nationwide roadside assistance.

After the minimum 24 month period, the vehicle may be returned at any point for an early exit fee of $550 if you wish.

However, if you fulfill the 5 year term, Tradiespec will transfer ownership of the vehicle to you for a $1 transfer fee.

What is included in the weekly cost?

Vehicle registration costs including Compulsory Third-Party insurance (CTP)
Full comprehensive insurance (plant hire not included)
All scheduled servicing costs
Nationwide roadside assistance
Additional set of (4) tyres when the original set needs replacing
Like-for-like accident replacement cover if you're involved in an accident

What are the requirements for Rent to Own?

You must meet the following requirements to be eligible:

Over the age of 23
Valid Australian driver’s licence
Australian citizen or permanent resident
Use the vehicle wholly or predominately for business purposes
Have a valid ABN

Will a credit check on my financial history be completed?

We may conduct a soft credit enquiry, however your credit score and history is not a determining factor.

What is the Rent to Own application process?

We will send you an application form which you fill out, and request some verifying documentation. We have our own in-house approvals team, and you should expect to hear back from us within 24-48 hours with an answer as to whether or not you have been approved.

Is there a waiting period for a vehicle?

Wait times for Rent to Own vehicles depends on stock availability as they are brand new vehicles and may take up to 3 weeks if we have to order the vehicle in.

How many KMs am I allowed to travel per year in the vehicle?

Our standard contract allows for 32,000 KM’s per year with no extra charge. Any additional Km’s travelled will be charged at $0.12 per KM.

What is the 'minimum period' and what happens if I wish to return before the minimum period is up?

The minimum period is the minimum amount of days you are agreeing to hire the vehicle for at a minimum. For a 5 year rent to own, this minimum period is 24 months.

When signing the rental agreement, the customer is agreeing to fulfill the weekly payments for 24-month minimum. Therefore, the customer is required to make the weekly repayments for 24-months, even if they wish to return vehicle before that point. After the 24 months is up, the customer will then have the option to exit the contract or continue for the remainder of the rent-to-own rental period.

Can I extend my Rent to Own contract?

No, the Rent to Own term is a set period which cannot be extended beyond the 5 year term.

From where can I hire one of your vehicles?

You can hire a Ute, Van or Tipper Truck from our locations in NSW, Victoria, South East Queensland and Western Australia.
